The railway line that was damaged in Panki area due to the Sabarmati Express accident has become operational on Sunday, but it will be upgraded. Currently, trains will pass on it with caution (10 km per hour) for a fixed distance. After new work is done on it, trains will be able to run at a speed of 110 km per hour.
In the accident, 500 meters of the up line was damaged. The railway installed iron CST-9 sleepers. The distance between them is one meter, while the distance between concrete PSC sleepers is 60 centimeters. After the up line was prepared with CST-9 sleepers, it was tested. Now it will be prepared afresh. New concrete sleepers have arrived from the railway. These have been kept on the side of the track.
